After the club closed on 4th of July back in 2017, someone pulled out a boombox on wheels. Alayna quickly jumped into the middle of us all and introduced herself — she was inviting, warm, bright. And we danced down the streets of Brooklyn, stopping on each block to let a song play out. It felt like we were in a movie scene.

While I didn’t know her well, I’m glad we crossed paths for a short while — its clear she was a bright light in this world. She will be dearly missed
